What is the typical length and strength of a chemical bond

What is the typical length and strength of a chemical bond? (E.g., you can calculate by looking at a table.)Suppose that a typical bond will break when the bond has been stretched some multiple of the bond length. This multiple will vary from bond to bond, but we imagine it will be among 1 and 2 or so. Calculate the typical scale of inter atomic forces in a molecule. Given that a typical cross-sectional dimension of a bond is on the order of an angstrom, explain how many bonds cross across sectional area of a thread 1mmin diameter. From this calculate the maximum total force that could be sustained by such a thread.
