Problem: Gender & Sex
The purpose of this problem is to have you perform a critique of the way gender operates/is communicated/is enforced in an event that is happening in our lives. Pick something CONTEMPORARY from the newspaper, TV, or social media and make an argument about what type of gendered communication is occurring in the "story." Use the book to support your claims about that which you are analyzing. Explain your position by backing up your claims with scholarly evidence and use articles from the BCC library (2 scholarly articles). The goal is to convince the reader to adopt your perspective about the gendered communication. What is this "story" telling us about the larger discourses surrounding power, gender, race, class, ability, etc?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
