Here is an update from a newspaper article about the Jonathan Ferrell case, which was mentioned in class today as an example of the way racialization occurs through criminalization. Specifically, Jonathan Ferrell was in a car accident, knocked on a door asking for help. The woman inside of the house thought Ferrell was attempting to break into the house, and called the police. When they police arrived, they shot Ferrell 10 times.
