Homework: Quantitative & Qualitative Summary
You will submit summaries of quantitative and qualitative studies. The purpose of this homework is to become familiar with published research, research designs, and methodologies. For the homework, you will select one quantitative research study and one qualitative study related to the field of nursing and related to the topic and PICOT questions that you developed. Each summary must be accurate, succinct, and clear. The articles must be current (within the last five years).
Article choice is very important, therefore:
1. Articles used for this homework cannot be used for the other homework (students should find new research articles for each new homework).
2. The selected articles should be original research studies. Review articles, concept analysis, meta-analysis, meta-synthesis, integrative review, and systematic review articles should not be used.
3. Mixed-methods studies should not be used.
4. Dissertations should not be used
Ensure the following questions are addressed in each summary:
A. What type of research is it (quantitative, qualitative, and design)?
B. What was the research question(s) or hypothesis?
C. What is the sample, the sample size, and sample attributes?
D. What was the setting of the study?
E. What were the researcher's findings?
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
1. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the course title, the student's name, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The references and Citations should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
