What laws exist to regulate marketing of tobacco products? Do laws around tobacco marketing make a difference in prevalence of smoking and mortality due to smoking?

o The use of alcohol has, and will continue to have, a major effect of the social and physical health of people around the world. This impacts our laws and social structure.
o Two major social changes due to alcohol are covered in the alcohol module. One is the gin epidemic in London in the 1700s. The other is US prohibition.
o Describe what occurred during both the gin epidemic and prohibition. What impact did these events have on society and health? Did either of these impact the legal system? Are there any comparisons that can be made between England and the US before prohibition?
