1. What is the overall chemical equation for photosynthesis and cellular respiration? How are they intimately tied to one another? What is the role for every molecule in each of the equations you just wrote out. What is being oxidized what is being reduced? Where do they come from?
2. What would a cell do to generate ATP in the absence of oxygen? Be specific. (There were two types we learned about in lecture). How are they similar to aerobic cellular respiration? How are they different?
3. How does photosynthesis convert light energy into chemical energy? How are the chemical products of the light trapping reactions coupled to the synthesis of sugars? What kind of photosynthesis adaptations have evolved in response to different environmental conditions?
