What is the offered suggestion for improving this specific

The Module 1 SLP consists of the following four steps: (comment and one reference at bottom)

Step One

Choose a problem  (Problem is listed at the end...bottom...)

Please offer a brief overview of what the article is that you are choosing for this assignment (approximately 1 page, paraphrased - around 400 words).

Step Two

Look at your social problem through the lens of one of these theories: Social Interactionism, Conflict Theory, or Social Functionalist. Develop the discussion strictly in the terms used within your chosen theory. For example, if you chose social interactionism, how have we developed meaning about this social problem from our social perspective? How would someone experiencing the problem develop meaning about the problem?

Step Three

What is the offered suggestion for improving this specific problem? How could it be possible to eliminate the problem, according to this specific article, from society? Also, do you feel this is reasonable? Why?

Discussion but need more info

For this discussion I thought I would explore the social problem of possible racial discussions and the reactions of large groups of people when rallying as currently seen in presidential candidacies.  This is a broad discussion post, but I would like to explore the issue as we are in very interesting times in this election (specifically Trump's campaign).   There is much that has transcribed and I am interested in the history of racism and the effect it has on the society and their actions.

Racism is analytically distinct from racial discrimination and racial inequality. Racial discrimination concerns the unequal treatment of races, while racial inequality concerns unequal outcomes (in income, education, health, etc.) (Pager and Shepherd, 2008).  After reading some of the literature it seems that the sociology of racism has various studies (racism, racial discrimination and racial inequality).  Some social scientists claim this "broadening" of the concept of racism serves a "political agenda" (van den Berghe, 2001, 12721) which could be the approach of the current politicians?

My opinion is that Donald Trump's campaign is rooted with racism and hate.  There is much demonizing and dehumanizing statements which has created a sense of advocacy to a mass of supporters.  It may be possible that Mr. Donald Trump's campaign rhetoric is resulting in real-world violence and other derogatory actions.
