Overview
For this assignment, you will play the role of a VP of HR for a company (you choose the company and please choose a well-known company) and answer the questions below.
Instructions
Create a separate report with a cover page following APA format and answer each question as listed below.
When needed, support your recommendations by citing your sources + your sections of the textbook. Remember to use in-text citations and include a reference page in APA format. (8 pts)
There is no page limit, however a good rule of thumb is to not exceed 10 pages.
A. Questions to answer
a. What is the name of the company you chose,
b. How long have they existed, where is their head office, do they have satellite offices.
c. How many executives do they have, what are their positions, I.E. Titles
Now you will begin your analysis based on the organization you have chosen by answering the following questions.
B. What are the pros and cons of having a diverse workforce. Please explain both sides.
C. Now you would like to measure the success of the organization you chose. What metrics would you use, what benchmarks would you use. Explain why.
D. List as many jobs as you can related to this organization. Then decide if any of those jobs are not 100% necessary and could potentially be eliminated.
E. Discuss the various methods of job analysis and note their pros and cons.
F. Hypothetically you may need to hire a few positions. What would be the steps in a selection process? Compare and explain them.
G. Write down the positions you hire (3-4) and explain the training methods would you use and why?
H. Develop a list of effective characteristics that you would require for each of the positions you hired for.
I. Now you will conduct a job evaluation for each of these positions. Please explain the differences, advantages, and disadvantages
J. After completing this review, are there any other HR issues, or concerns you believe you should address about the company you chose.
