A literature thesis statement presents the author's (that's you!) opinion about WHAT the text means! The paper itself will argue HOW the literature presents that meaning and WHY your idea is so imperative to learn.
What is the major theme that you will analyze? What is your opinion about that theme? WHAT IDEA are you going to explore about the theme?
For example, please note my sample thesis statement:
The Yellow Wallpaper presents the story of a woman trapped, mentally and physically, in a form of depression. This story encourages people to see that postpartum depression affects the entire family, not just the woman who gave birth.
