Problem
We want to test if rats are smarter than gerbils and so we set up an experiment that would help us analyze our problem. We set up a maze with cheese at the end of the maze as a reward. We time how long it takes each animal to get to the other end of the maze for a period of thirty days. We collect and record our data. Using the above information:
1) Compose a hypothesis? (It is an "if and then" statement)
2) What is the independent variable?
3) What is the dependent variable?
4) Name at least two of the controls / constants.
5) Make a tentative graph with a title, labels, and units that might be applicable.
