Problem: There are many issues that have an effect on people, animals, vegetation, and the Earth as a whole. We will be discussing some of these issues throughout this course. For the discussion this week, I would like you to think about the entire planet. Some issues have been resolved while others may occur or continue to exist. Some examples include: social issues, racial issues, poverty, population growth, disease, war, climate change, bio-depletion, consumption of resources, deforestation, availability of fresh water, soil erosion, etc. This list has no end. (1) What do you think is the greatest issue/problem facing the planet today or perhaps in the future? Why? (2) Do you think people will resolve this issue/problem? Why or why not? (3) Given the resources available to people and all of the many issues/problems that exist, what do you think about the long term prospect of humans on Earth? That is, how long do you think people will be here and why? Your answer must have at least 3 paragraphs with at least 3 complete sentences.
