What is the difference between analogous and homologous organs?

The Characteristics of different species are said to be analogous when having the same biological function, for instance, the wings of bats and the wings of insects.

The Characteristics of different species are said to be homologous when having the same biological origin that is when they are products of differentiation of a same characteristic from a common ancestor, like cat paws and human feet (Characteristics of different species may be analogous and homologous).
