• EXPLAIN THIS PRIMARY SOURCE HOW IS RELATE WITH THE HIP HOP CULTURE, FOR EXAMPLE THE TONE THAT THEY ARE USING, WHAT KIND OF MUSIC IS? Whose voices do you hear on the recording?
• What is the date of the recording?
• Where was the recording made?
• Who made the recording? Or who produced it?
• What are they saying? What are the lyrics of the song?
• What is the tone or mood of the recording?
• Who was the intended audience of the recording?
• What was the purpose of the document or what is the main message in the document?
• What new information does this source provide on your presentation topic?
• How does it demonstrate the way your topic defined freedom and / or equality?
You are required to use both primary and secondary sources.
Your presentation must also have a thesis.
The purpose is to not just repeat what the textbook says on the topic, but to find more information for the rest of the class to expand our knowledge on the topic. Be sure to include in your presentation the significance of the person(s) or events you are presenting on. In other words, make sure you answer the following questions: Why is your subject important for understanding the definition of freedom and equality in the 20th Century? How does the group/individual/organization address issues of inclusion and access in this country?
The presentation must also connect your topic to present day conditions in American society.
