What is the biggest crises in the mental health field now

Problem:

Engage in conversation with your peers about whether you agree or disagree that advocacy helped the issue and what elements still exist. Consider asking a question or sharing your own personal experience.--I believe one of the biggest crises in the mental health field right now is the overwhelming demand for services combined with the severe shortage of professionals. The path to becoming a psychiatrist, psychologist, or even a licensed counselor is long and rigorous, often requiring years of graduate education, thousands of supervised clinical hours, and licensing exams. While these requirements ensure competent and ethical care, they also extend the time it takes to enter the workforce which in my experience and through conversations I've had can discourage people from pursuing the field. I've learned from my time working at "Just People" a home for adults with mental disabilities in the past mental health care was largely handled in the institutional settings. Many individuals were placed in long-term psychiatric hospitals and forgotten about; the world took the approach of out of sight out of mind. After deinstitutionalization, care shifted toward community-based services, but the funding and level of care never fully matched the growing need. At the same time, treatment and stigma surrounding mental illness prevented many people from seeking help and limited interest in mental health careers. Need Assignment Help?
