I think that this implementation plan could possibly have a negative impact on the organization. Including only senior-level management for decisions pertaining to the five-year plan will not be an effective strategy because many possible changes to improve the business could be missed. From my personal experience working in the hospital, there are many decisions made from people up top without the consideration of staff. However, many times senior management is unaware of the actual daily workflow and implement changes that hinder safe practices. For instance, we had a CEO cut the number of techs on the unit in order to save money for the hospital. It was not until he came down and worked hands on in the unit that he realized the hard work that went into taking care of critical trauma patients. After his day on the unit, he reversed the decision to cut support staff and asked for the unit's opinion on what could be done to make the workload easier.

In order to ensure successful implementation of the assisted living facility's strategic plan, I would definitely include department staff in addition to upper management. In assisted living homes, the staff members directly interact with patients who are one the major stakeholders for the facility. Thus, staff members can offer fresh ideas, a different perspective, and so much insight that could have a positive impact on the success and growth of the facility. Additionally, having staff as a part of decisions could also lead to high workplace satisfaction. In turn, this could cause staff to work harder because they are happy with their working conditions. Furthermore, work satisfaction could also possibly lead to growth of the facility because all members are giving their best.
