"You are expected to use (cite) the text, articles, and other materials shared in class to answer the questions. Each question is worth 15 points and requires an essay answer. 1. What is police discretion? Also, what influences police discretion. How does police discretion impact the public's perception of police? Can police discretion breed corruption, and what may be some examples? Be sure to discuss some solutions as well.
2. Articles 3 and 4 covers race and policing. As mentioned throughout the lectures, the term intersectionality describes the differences and similarities between variables and different identity groups (gender, race, class, etc.). Article 3 considered gender differences. How did these articles break down police misconduct? Why is it important to consider gender and race differences (aka intersectionality) when it comes to police misconduct? Be sure to use articles 3 and 4 to support your answer. "
