What is pauls basic defense of himself

Assignment: Paul's Third Journey

For this assignment, we will look at Paul's third "missionary journey." In some sense, this journey never ends, in that Paul never makes it back to his "home base" of Antioch, but is rather arrested in Jerusalem and ultimately brought to Rome (the latter of which we will read about for our final assignment), in accordance with God's will.

1. Read Acts 18:24-24:27, and construct bullet-point lists on the following topics. In #2, you will use your lists to create prose summaries. You do not need to use complete sentences for these lists:

a) Trace where you see the God, Jesus or Holy Spirit driving the plot in this chunk of Acts

b) Trace where you see a distinction made between Jews and/or Judaism (in general) and followers of Jesus and/or Christianity (in particular). In other words, where do you see Luke highlighting that the Christian movement (or "the Way" as it is sometimes called in Acts) is more than just another sect of Judaism alongside the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Essenes?

c) Trace where you see continuity between Judaism and Christianity

d) Trace where you see parallels between Paul's story in this part of Acts and the story of Jesus in Luke

1. Take the "data" from 1.1-1.4 and craft prose summaries of each theme. You can number these 2.1-2.4. If you wish, feel free to put your answers on continuity and discontinuity between Judaism and Christianity into one, longer answer

2. Reread 21:17-23:10, which describes Paul's arrest and examination in Jerusalem

a) What thing(s) make Paul controversial to the Jews gathered in Jerusalem?
b) What is Paul's basic defense of himself?

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:

1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.

2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
