As noted on the weekly home page, the collection Iraq+100 (which includes this story) asked 10 Iraqi writers to respond to the question: What might the country look like in the year 2103? Speculative fiction is a place to imagine futures.
i. What is significant about the year 2003 in Iraq that prompted the publisher's question to authors?
ii. The narrator mentions often that he is intent on telling the truth, and that all he says is true. What is one of the truths that would/could not have been said before the narrator's death?
