Please reply to answer: The advantages of having so many levels of governments are for our benefit. These different levels within each state serve a purpose for the citizens living in that state. State representatives serve the people by making laws the citizens have voted for. The different levels keep all the government branches in check and in balance. The state representatives or Governor, receive funding and the Governor spends the money on the state for the good of the people. The Federal Government also has checks and balances from the many levels of government. All of the branches of government keep the balance when creating laws and regulations and keep one level from having all the power. The funding or federal grants, help a community by creating a better economy for that state. Funding can improve national and state parks, as well as hospitals and medical facilities. People depend on services provided by our states and governments where we live. We need medical facilities, health services and mental health services, natural disaster resources, and protection such as military and national guard services. We the people create these funds by paying taxes. Property taxes, State income tax, sales tax, bonds, excise taxes, and more all make up government revenue.
Some disadvantages of having many levels of governments are the terms that they serve. Some career politicians may not be our best interest once they get the position. They may decide their position is not what they wanted, and they start looking for a new job in politics. This means that person put in office or in charge of the state, does not have the people's best interests in mind. Some of the state funding or grants may not go toward to what really matters and the people in that state suffer. Taxes are another issue for people. We are taxed on nearly everything and people struggle to pay for the necessities, pay their bills, and afford their groceries. Today, people live paycheck to paycheck, and what is on sale is what most people buy.
