Discussion:
Review your current (or previous) company's Employee Handbook. Does it include policies on workplace behavior issues/practices (for example: absenteeism or misconduct)? What verbiage does it use to discuss discipline for these behaviors? Does it include an employee grievance process? If a supervisor must conduct an investigation, how could they ensure it is unbiased? As an employee, is it clear to you what is "inappropriate conduct" in the workplace and what the consequences are for successful conduct?
