Analytical Essay 5-6 pages
In 5-6 pages, you will analyze a piece of art of your choosing
The point of the essay is to "break down" the artwork and examine its various pieces, such as colors, medium, lines et al, and explain how those pieces operate within the art.
In order to write a complete analysis, your paper should look to :
1) What is happening (Ex: the canvas has lots of blues and greys)
2) The interpretation of what is happening (Ex: it conveys a somber mood)
3) How/where that is happening (Ex: the monochromatic palette gives this impression due to the lack of diverse colors)
There are two main components to starting an analytical paper :
1) Articulate a thesis statement
2) Support your thesis with evidence/details/examples
