What is biotechnology?
Biotechnology is the application of biological knowledge to get new techniques, materials and compounds of pharmaceutical, medical, agrarian, industrial and scientific use, i.e., of practical use.
The pioneer fields of biotechnology were agriculture and the food industry but nowadays many other practical fields use its methods.
