Assignment:
It's the first millennium on New Earth and its citizens have flourished. Businesses are booming, especially the Space tourism industry. You are a retired NASA astronaut and your business is a travel agency called "The Exoplanet Travel Bureau" and its motto: 'See what's never been seen before!' A lot of of your very brave and rich customers-- from stories told by their ancestors who first settled New Earth-- would love to visit the 'Old Solar System' and in particular they want to see 'Old Earth', the home world of their ancestors. According to your catalog, on the way to the Old Solar System, space tourists will also encounter some exotic objects, as well as some extraterrestrials! By the way, your business is well insured in case of accidents and other unforeseen events, such as, radiation exposure (see the radiation unit), tourists who don't listen and end up getting eaten by extraterrestrial life forms (see extraterrestrials unit). Since we're in another solar system, the 'old solar system' planets are 'exoplanets'. Why are they considered exoplanets?
Your travel agency has put together a type of travel 'infographic' catalog (see below for examples of infographics) in which you give a description of the of the Old Solar System and three other "exotic" items of your choice (other exoplanets, Black holes, quasars, nebula, brown dwarf, etc.) and a couple of extraterrestrials. You must be scientifically correct. Below are some ideas of what you might want to consider adding, but feel free to use your own. You can also create your own motto. Please cite sources and remember copyright laws. Some icons are available for free. Photos of planets can be found on NASA's websites or do a search for NASA planet images. Remember to credit NASA or other images that you use.

What is an infographic?
Have you ever heard of the saying that 'a picture's worth a thousand words'? Here's your chance to prove that. For this assignment, you will be making infographics. An infographic is a visual representation of data (like a plot) or any type of information. A great example is the following infographic, which is aimed at explaining the difference between Climate and weather. Climate and weather are no easy concepts to explain; however with icons, numbers and texts, explaining the difference between these two is much easier. See other examples below.
