Discussion
Although some progress has been made in the elimination of prejudice in the United States, a large amount still exists both here and around the world. People tend to notice differences more than similarities and often attribute excessive importance to the differences. In this activity we will explore how stereotyping can lead to prejudice which in turn can lead to discrimination. As you create your discussion post, consider the following:
• What is a stereotype and how does it develop?
• What is prejudice and where does it come from?
• What is discrimination and how do prejudice and stereotyping lead to it?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
