What is a primary group: a small group characterized by intimate, face-to-face and day-to-day interactions. Do these groups comprise members of the same class structure or can they vary? What are the most common of these and what can either result in their becoming secondary groups, or secondary groups becoming primary groups? Are co-workers and classmates primary groups? How about members of a military unit? Do these conflict or coincide with social mobility of an individual?
