What was the importance of the Great War to modern United States and world history? Why did the United States get involved in the war? The overwhelming majority of Americans concluded AFTER the war that it was a mistake to fight. Why did they think that way, and were they right? Briefly explain President Woodrow Wilson's goals - were they realistic? In terms of his role in World War I and the Versailles Treaty, how would you characterize Wilson's contribution to history?
