Your Ideological Perspectives and the Human Services Field
For this discussion, read the following and answer the questions below.
There are many ideologies connected to how U.S. social policy is shaped. As you complete the readings on ideological perspectives, assess your own personal worldview and ideologies that you hold. Ask yourself how your worldview, beliefs, past experiences, and attitudes may impact the work that you will do with a diverse population of clients. Also think about the area of human services you are interested in. What ideologies do you think have shaped your thoughts about social policies surrounding a child welfare case manager?
