What home remedies and/or complementary/alternative medicine did your family use when you were growing up? What beliefs or perceptions were they based upon? Was traditional healing used as an alternative to or an adjunct to Western biomedicine? How would your family have reacted if a health professional told them not to use their home remedy because it had not been scientifically proven?
