What have you learned about yourself and how can you apply

Part 1-

Discuss your MBTI results and what meaning they had for you.

1) In reviewing the information in Personality Type Portraits how does this information correlate to you and what concepts would you disagree with?

2) When you read "The Common Careers for Personality Types" what do you identify with that you believe would bring you career satisfaction?

3) What majors and careers might be a good fit for you and your type and why?

4) With this new information what have you learned about yourself and how can you apply it to your future around your major and career choice? What perceptions have you had about yourself that may have changed after taking the MBTI?

5) Summarize what you have learned about yourself from taking the MBTI. How will knowing your MBTI now influence your career decision making?

Part 2-

Answer the following questions in detail - not necessary to re-type the questions on your paper:

1) What did you learn about yourself with the values exercise and how do you think it applies to the career planning process? What major/occupation are you considering? How do you think your values match or don't match this major/occupation?

2) Complete the Prioritizing Exercise of your course packet. Review your prioritized Always Valued values, discuss your top 4 and define in specific detail what they mean to you.

3) List at least 3 occupations and/or majors which would support your top values? Why would they be a good fit with your values?

4) List 5 things you love to do. Explain how and why they correlate to your "Always Valued" values. Which of these areas might possibly be a potential major or career for you?

5) In what way do you think that it is helpful to be clear about your work/career values with regard to your career decision making? How is this new knowledge about your values going to help you in making your career/major decision?

6) Take a look at your Always Valued values. How might you "group" them into themes? What are those themes i.e. working with people, working in a creative environment, working with numbers, working outdoors, etc. You should have between 3 - 4 groups. Describe in detail what you would like your work environment to look like in the future? People you might be working with, inside or outside, industry, and maybe even a favorite company that you would like to work for.
