1. Recent research suggests that the characteristics of a highly motivated person are similar to the characteristics of a mentally healthy person. In what ways would you agree or disagree with this statement?
2. Think about how hungry you are right now. How much control over your behavior do you think you have? Last time you were really hungry, did it drive you to act in a way that was different than you expected? What are the factors that control appetite?
3. Think of the last time you made a judgment about someone or something you didn't know very much about? Did you fall victim to any biases? Did you have hindsight bias? Did you use any heuristics?
4. What have you heard about language lateralization (i.e. left versus right brain) beyond what you have learned in this class? Does it fit with what we know about language lateralization in the brain?
