Assignment task: How does what Grant-Davie explains about rhetorical situations deepen, extend or complicate your insights? Compare with below paragraph.

In order to understand the argument, the terms of the argument need to be defined. The three classical appeals are Ethos, Pathos, and Logos, all of which are used in the articles' arguments surrounding systemic racism and medicinal practices. Ethos is an appeal using the credentials of an individual. For the world of medicine, it depends upon professional certifications and institutions. The residency of a Doctor, or where they are tenured, or which organization they head determines how they are viewed by their peers. Logos is an appeal to logic, using statistics, data, and "if-then" reasoning to make an argument. Pathos is an appeal to emotions and someone's consciousness. This is not used as much as the other two appeals due to the statistical nature of both the professions and organizations. All of the sources use a blend of these three appeals, appealing to both their internal and external audiences.
