Problem
Pretend that you have two flies with white eyes. One has white eyes because it is homozygous for the w- allele of the white gene. The other has white eyes because it is homozygous for the mutant alleles of the both the scarlet and brown genes.
1. Assuming that each fly is homozygous wildtype for all other genes than the ones mentioned above, give the full genotype for the white, brown, and scarlet genes for each fly.
2. If you were to perform a cross of these flies, what genotypes and phenotypes would you expect in the F1 offspring? What genotypes and phenotypes (and their ratios) would you expect in the F2 offspring?
