Following is an excerpt from an article from the Newcastle Herald regarding a chemical spill involving Orica, a large chemicals manufacturer:Orica annibua leak sends two to hospital.The greens have called for Orica's Kooragang Island chemical plant to be closed and its operating licence revoked after two people were taken to hospital following an ammonia leak from the plant yesterday.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said officers treated two people in Selwyn Street, Mayfield East, at 3pm after they suffered breathing difficulties.

The patients were taken to Calvary-Mater Hospital in a stavle condition.

NSW fire and rescue crews identified the gas as ammonia and traced its source to the Kooragang Island Orcia plant, about five kolometers away.
