What examples of subcultures or countercultures in society

Problem: The conflict perspective suggests that culture reflects the beliefs, values, and interests of dominant groups, and that subcultures and countercultures are often marginalized, stereotyped, misrepresented, and/or oppressed by the dominant culture due to their cultural differences.  This is sometimes the case with people who have different political or religious beliefs, different racial or ethnic cultures, different lifestyles, or people who don't speak "proper" English well.  I'd like to talk about cultural diversity in our society more using the concepts of subcultures and countercultures. What are some examples of subcultures or countercultures in our society?  How can you apply the functionalist and conflict perspective to your examples?
