• Learn about the history of Harvard, Yale, and some of the early challenges related to the foundation of higher education. How did the establishment of these early, seminal learning institutions shape American colleges today?
• Evaluate some of the rather significant challenges that universities faced getting started in the United States. How did these challenges have an impact on colleges both at the time and today? What evidence exists today of the lingering impact of those early challenges?
