Throughout the module there was considerable attention given to the efforts to define the role that women would play in public and private life. Drawing from material in your learning module, describe where you see the limits placed on women. Do you think that there was significant progress being made to create greater equality between men and women during the time period? What evidence do you have to support this claim? What were the barriers to making change?
