How can we ensure environmental justice is one of the focal points of government policy? How can we help the general public become adequately informed about environmental justice so representatives can be held accountable? Every day we make decisions on how we live our lives from our means of travel to the very food we eat. The decisions on how we live our lives are often made with little consideration of the greater environmental cycle. In addition, increased consumption and accessibility have allowed for production to become the prime concern regardless of the environmental impacts. How does environmental justice become the primary concern for not just the government but everyone?
Have you ever been in a situation where you had to think twice about what you were consuming and where it was coming from because it affected your health? What steps do you feel need to be taken to help the millions of Americans who are also facing issues with water crises in their area? Think about the recent toxic wastes situations in Ohio for example, where it's projected that the toxins in the air are going to affect the great lakes. What environmental regulations and policies would you like to see in place to ensure that we can keep our water and food sources and systems safe?
