Problem: One of the best ways to understand the elements required for a story to be Gothic is to try writing one yourself. Look back through your notes and review the kinds of details, events, and themes that characterize Gothic literature. Then write your own Gothic short story, including at least three of these elements. Your short story should be at least two pages, double-spaced, in length.
