An introduction should answer include what the essay is about, why the reader is reading it, and what the writer wants to reader to do about it. As a writer, you want to include the main idea of the essay stated clearly along with a well written thesis statement. I feel as if an introduction should be somewhere between 150-200 words for a 900 word essay in the five paragraph format. A thesis statement should appear at the end of your introduction paragraph and explain the topic of your entire essay in one sentence.
Global climate change is defined as a long-term change in the earth's climate, especially a change due to an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. Otherwise known as global warming: a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants. It has been an ongoing argument as to whether to whether or not humans can be held responsible for the overall global climate change, although there is evidence that they are.
