What does the dress code look like

Discussion Post

Gender is pervasive in almost every aspect of our lives. For this, you'll work though a table that asks you to reflect on gender in your life. You'll be asked to fill out examples of gender in several institutions in which you are embedded. Again, all of us experience the social construction of gender, every day. For example, even if you went to a single-sex school (all girls or all boys), gendering still exists: What does the dress code look like? Are the boys at the school allowed to wear skirts? Are there different ways to be masculine (an athlete? a "nerd"? etc.)? Also, you'll be asked to reflect on what gender looks like for other people in these institutions. Remember, that everyone has a different social location, even your siblings (first borns tend to have different experiences than their younger siblings; my brother's experience in our family was MUCH different than mine, because of his gender), and different experiences within each institution, so think about what their experience might be like.

The response must include a reference list. One-inch margins, double-space, Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
