Attached is a list of cases in which the insanity defense has been successful. Pick one and only one of those cases. In 500-750 words you should provide a short more detailed description of the case- more detailed than the one provided in this document, you will need to do some outside research on this. Then based on the reading for module 7, discuss if think this was a good example of an appropriate use of the insanity defense- do you think it was fairly and appropriately applied. What happened to the person after they were found insane? "Where they today". What does the case tell you about the use of the insanity defense and its place in the broader criminal justice system.
