Discussion Post: Self Awareness
Imagine that you are married, living with someone or in a committed relationship. A year ago, you (or your partner/surrogate mother if you are a male) gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Right after your daughter's first birthday, you find out that there was a mix-up at the hospital and that you were given the wrong baby by mistake (this has actually happened a few times and has been discovered due to DNA testing). What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child for your own biological child? Why or why not? What do you think would be the best thing to do in this situation for you, for the child, for the other family? Why?
