When using assessments to monitor a child's progress some people prefer standardized assessments because they offer the ability to compare current scores with previous scores as well as the ability to compare an individual child's scores to those of the normative sample. When thinking specifically about the domains of academic/cognitive development, physical development, and social/emotional functioning, what do you perceive to be the most informative way to report a child's developmental progress and why?
Some people prefer standardized assessments to track a child's progress because they allow you to compare a child's current score to his or her previous score and to compare a child's score to that of the normative sample.
