The causes that domestic terrorists and terrorist groups claim to fight for are becoming more diverse. The radical methods of terrorist groups like Earth First!, Animal Liberation Front, and the Earth Liberation Front have reduced even sensible causes like eco-consciousness and animal rights to acts of terrorism. The co-existence of multiple terrorists and terrorist groups committed to a variety of causes, and their access to a variety of sophisticated and lethal tools of terrorism, increases the challenge to determine the direction from which terror attacks may occur.
