For this essay, you have to first read the article, "Globalization 101: the three tensions of globalization," by Laurence E. Rothenberg. The author defines globalization and points out at three areas in which some kind of "tension" could be observe. The article will provide you with good information and will help you understand what globalization is and the relationship it has with certain aspects of people's lives.
In this essay I would like for you to reflect on the interaction between globalization and religion and think whether globalization is good for religion or not. This is an opinion paper, and I am interested in learning what you think. Make sure all your arguments are well sustained with proper information and the facts you state are accurate. In order to help you build your argument, I would like for you to present at least three different cases that illustrate the relationship between globalization and religion. You can think of examples of things that have happened in history, specific situations, etc. For example, how the internet was used during the pandemic for people to still attend religious services, even though there was a mandatory quarantine. Or examples of people being killed in the name of religion.
Here are a few questions that you might find useful when thinking about your arguments.
1. What is the greatest challenge religions face in our world nowadays? Can you think of examples and how those examples relate to globalization?
2. What are the opportunities religions have for growth? Can you find examples?
3. What do you think is the future of religion in a globalized world?
