I. What do you think critical race theory means? Do you have a negative or positive connotation to critical race theory? In what ways, if any, do you believe that your social identity groups and your environment have influenced your perception and understanding of the phrase critical race theory?
II. Why do you think the discussion of critical race theory surfaced now in 2020/2021? What events do you believe have lead up to the present day conversation of critical race theory? What are the gains for the groups of people who are trying to ban critical race theory?
III. Can we make comparisons to the discussions and actions some states are taking regarding critical race theory to previous events in American history?
IV. What could be some possible negative consequences from banning critical race theory in the K-12 curriculum?
