What do you think about this product failure?
As the name itself suggest the description of the product i.e. a ketchup in different colors. With the name itself we can think of people reacting to it. As we all know Ketchup is made from tomatoes and the red color does signify the core ingredient in it which makes sense. But just trying to be little innovative Heinz company who is popular for selling Tomato or the red color ketchup for over 100 years, thought of experimenting with the existing successful product and decided to launch ketchup in wacky colors such as the electric blue and funky purple to attract kids. Naturally this product did fail as the parents didn't wanted the children to learn that the ketchup is made from blue or purple colored tomatoes which is just not realistically possible. The product could have performed better if launched with different name and suggesting an ingredient which resembles the color of the ketchup.
