What do you notice about your writing

Problem

A reflection paper shares your thoughts on an experience, such as a reading assignment or a class, and apply what you've learned to your life and education.

They're relatively informal, focusing on your reactions to the experience and how you plan on applying your new knowledge.

Organization, unity of ideas, and the use of clear examples are all keys to creating a successful reflection essay.

Answer the following questions. This is a tool to help you start the reflecting process and identify how your writing has developed.

1. Think about how your relationship to writing has changed over your writing courses at Rutgers. Describe that change. Is it for the better? Worse? Neither, but more nuanced?

2. What are you strengths as a writer? Where do you see them in the piece that you are submitting for your final project?

3. Look at your rough draft of your piece. What do you notice about your writing? Describe your drafting process. Do you notice any relationship between your drafting process and the draft?

4. Think about your revision process. What do you tend to focus on? Where do you struggle? What kind of feedback did you get from your peers and was it helpful?

5. Take a step back from the writing itself. What do you notice about when you write, how you write, and where you write? How do those impact your writing?
