Discourse Noticing Exercise
What do you notice about the verbal discourse of an organization? What can you discern about the nature of the organization from its discourse? What about the discourse of artifacts and symbols? What added information about the organization do they offer? Are there any surprises? Things you hadn’t noticed before you focused your noticing this way? If so, what are they, and what do you think is interesting and important about them?
