FTP: File transfer protocol was first introduced in the year of 1973; it standardized the transfer of files among computers on a TCP/IP network (e.g internet).
It could download or upload files to a remote computer using the FTP protocol

1. List, change, create folders on a remote computer
2. Upload & download files
Usage: Transferring Web content from the developer's PC to the Web server
